I axed the AWS account that the old imageboard content was hosted on since I got a bill for 0.13 USD. Running the site isn't worth even that, and the prospect that the site will cost more in the future is doubly not worth it.

As other posts will clarify, this site has been in archive mode for months. I've also written on my other blog at length about why I'm confident this was the right decision still.

But up until I got the first charge to the S3 bucket, it was pretty easy to justify keeping the site up in archive mode. But once that happened, it no longer is.

While I did enjoy coding the software for the board at one time, I'm not particularly proud of most of the posts that were made by users. So why would I spend my time archiving data I don't even care about.

I'm pretty sure the reason I starting to see charges is because the site is listed on multiple imageboard aggregation websites, so even though the site isn't active anymore, the archive gets more traffic than many of my other sites (probably).

Because of that there is some desire to do something with the subdomain. I've considered is creating an image gallery site that is only superficially in the style of an imageboard. I've played around with the idea but so far haven't had any motivation to work on it.

I don't even have time to update Othala anymore, which has been my preferred site to work on recently.

I'm sure you haven't seen the last of me.
